Description
A lone tree stands majestically in a forest, its branches and leaves creating an intricate natural canopy. Captured in infrared black and white, the scene evokes a timeless, serene atmosphere. This tree was in a way special to me. Back in the early 90's, I took classes in Black and White print photography and learned how to process the images in a real darkroom. Dodging and burning, inhaling toxic chemicals, it was great! This tree was my first darkroom project. It was located near the tower of Lambert Castle in Garret Mountain Reservation in Paterson New Jersey. Sadly, it was cut down years ago. At the base of the tree looks like (to me anyway) a spooky ghostly figure. This image preserves it's beauty in my memory.
