Description

This classic Pennsy Cabin Car (PRR terminology for "Caboose") was built in June 1923, and served PRR for 42 years until it was stricken from the records and sold to the Morris County Central Railroad early in 1965. This car had numerous owners and was even a Gift Shop Caboose in Newfoundland, NJ, until the closing in 1980 when the Morris County Central ceased operations. "The Station Agent" was partially filmed at Newfoundland during 2003. The movie features actors Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson, Michelle Williams and Bobby Cannavale. Dinklage used this cabin car No. 981590 as his dressing room and to take naps in between filming breaks. As of 2013, the Whippany Railway Museum owns and fully restored this classic gem, bringing joy to many children and rail fans.
