For over 100 years this Utah Juniper tree has chosen this spot in the Arches National Park This specie is native to the southwestern United States, in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, western New Mexico, western Colorado, Wyoming, southern Montana, southern Idaho and eastern California. In the background lies a bent and twisted labyrinth of sandstone fins called the Fiery Furnace. Stand at this viewpoint near sunset, when low-angle light makes the rock faces glow like a wood-fired furnace.
